Kahrs' design aesthetic can be described as "sophisticated elegance." Each collection is unique to her. Whether inspired by the fabric, current trends, or a dream, Kahrs plans every collection with much careful thought and research. As you will see in her womenswear, Sara prefers to design with clean seam lines that enhance the female figure. It is her goal to create original, but wearable garments for the modern woman. In 2018, Kahrs has released her first set of menswear for F18, which includes six masculine looks for the fashion forward male.

Designer, Sara Kahrs, began sewing at the age of 8, under the instruction of her mom and grandma. Hoening her skill through 4-H projects, she grew to love everything about apparel design and the fashion industry, leading her to persue a degree in Textile and Apparel Management at the University of Missouri, adding on a Business Minor. Throughout her education, she enhanced her skills of patternmaking, draping, and creativity classes. Upon her college graduation, Sara began working full-time, and now works as a technical designer and fit technician at a well-known corporate apparel office.

Hey guys! Fashion Week is THIS WEEK! The new post includes footage from my model 1st fittings and rehearsal weekend, pretty self explanatory. I dropped a song in here for this post that I'm particularly fond of lately, called Peaches. Without further description (as I'm putting all my spare time into sewing), I'll leave i...

Under one month away! KCFW is just around the corner, which means.....rehearsals are coming up! Rehearsal time is the deadline for having music turned into our KCFW DJ! Each season, I listen to hundreds of tracks it seems, and compile a grouping of music that can be blended together by the DJ. Criteria for ME are 1) track...

Six weeks until KCFW kicks off, guys! It's crunch time! I'll give you a run-down of where I'm at as of today! I've now set up a fitting date with my models prior to rehearsal, and my goal is to get ALL pieces "ready to fit" prior to this date. I have to leave each piece un-finished enough to the extent that alterations ar...

In my last video, I mentioned the waiting game for the model roster release. This entry picks up fro...

May 30, 2016

Hello, again! To sum up this entry, you will be seeing fabric selection, and the most critical part of the planning process, design selection. I ALWAYS include my mom in this process. She taught me to sew at the young age of eight, and she's been a huge support system my entire life. The one person I can count on for an h...

Introducing my first video entry on Designer Diaries! This entry focuses on the collection development process. Prior to the footage taken for collection development, I completed my trend research, which allows me to begin sketching for my collection. This video begins where I am ordering fabric swatches and plotting my d...
